Ride transit and save approximately $1,600 by the holidays
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) ranked Portland transit riders 11th in savings among the top 20 U.S. cities with an estimated monthly savings of $816 in their October monthly savings report. The top cities are ranked in order of the transit savings based on the purchase of a monthly public transit pass, local gas prices for October 14 and the local monthly unreserved parking rate. APTA releases the monthly report to examine how an individual in a two-person household can save money by riding public transit and living with one less car.
